The CAV 5 is a next-generation automated capillary viscometer from Cannon Instrument Company, designed to perform viscosity testing according to ASTM D445 viscosity test method.
It combines the proven technologies of the CAV 2100 viscometer, miniAV viscometer, and CAV 4 viscometer into a flexible single-bath system that optimizes capacity, temperature control and viscosity. Features such as TargetHeat™, Start Optimization, and WashPort™ enhance thermal conditioning, sample handling, cleaning efficiency, and measurement accuracy.
The modern interface with embedded computing enables standalone operation and remote method deployment across networks.
