Unit for extraction and binder content determination of bituminous materials.
As solvent for this closed system high stabilized trichlorethylene or on option perchlorethylene or ethylenchloride can be used.
After weighing the bituminous material a sieve is mounted in the washing pot and the materials are automatically washed with solvent with the aid of ultrasound.
Based on the type of aggregates several washing profiles can be set.
The minerals will stay on the sieve, solvents and filler are washed and separated by the centrifuge.
Filler is retained in the centrifuge whereas binder and solvent are separated in the connected recovery still by distillation. Solvents are reused. After the washing process minerals and fillers are dried automatically, and after completion of the program the process can be continued with sieve analysis.
Main advantages of this machine are:
- the extraction time between 35 and 45 mins including drying.
- reuse of solvent, considerably reduced ecological damage because of solvent loss < 50 ml per extraction.
